 New gene research facility opens at ANU
The Australian Phenomics Facility is a new Major National Research Facility for gene research.
The Facility has launched a new program, Conquering Immunological Diseases, to develop the treatments for cancer, autoimmune diseases, allergy using the latest achievements of gene research. The Facility is based in a new 6000 m2 building at ANU and will spearhead development of new methods of identifying interconnections between genes and health. The Australian Phenomics Facility has been established by the Commonwealth Government Department of Education, Science and Training, in partnership with The Australian National University, Monash University, The Garvan Institute, and the University of Queensland. |
 The IT industry is growing again and so is the demand for graduates.
Large organisations, such as consulting company Accenture are driving the demand. This year Accenture reportedly increased its graduate intake by 20% to 180. The further growing of IT industry is expected hence the demand for IT graduates will increase as well. The onrush of IT industry is reported by University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) which also notes the high demand for its own graduates. UTS and Insearch which prepares its students to entry to UTS degrees have a wide range of diploma, bachelor and master programs in IT on offer. Half of senators are reelected every 3 years.
